Description
Geographers explore challenges that connect society and the environment. Using a wide variety of methods, geographers investigate important problems facing communities, including social inequality, climate change, health disparities, and environmental hazards. In this one-credit seminar, guest speakers selected from the professional community and faculty will lead discussions with students about their work and how it addresses the challenges facing the environment and society. Guest speakers will also describe how they got to where they are today, providing insight on potential career paths and the skills needed for those careers. This course is great for students who are curious about geography, want to know more about potential careers for geographers, or are interested in getting career advice from a wide range of professionals.
