Description
The ability to resolve conflict is a highly-valued professional asset, a means to foster personal relationships, and a life skill that promotes a more peaceful and productive way of living. This course offers basic training in the skill of mediation, including how to conduct a basic mediation process, the ethical rules underpinning the practice of mediation, and the conflict resolution skills essential to mediating disputes. This course has been qualified by the Utah Court and meets the educational requirement to be listed as a mediator on the Utah Court Roster of Mediators (basic roster). There are other requirements beyond taking this course that must be completed before being a rostered mediator, including 20 practical hours, and completing an online ethical exam. More information about these requirements and how to satisfy them is provided in class.
