Description
This course will spotlight some of the current research being conducted at the University of Utah in the field of engineering, medicine, and genetics. Professors from the internationally recognized faculty of the Biomedical Engineering, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Genetics departments will present their work. We will hear from Dr. Jessica Kramer on the role of mucous in coronavirus infectivity, Dr. David Grainger on stem cell therapy: what is to be believed, Dr. Jan Kubanek on targeted personalized treatments of brain disorders, Dr. Alana Welm on patient-derived organoids for precision medicine in breast cancer, Dr. Hamid Ghandehari on controlled drug delivery: the right place at the right time, and Dr. Dana Carroll on genetic engineering in the clinic: CRISPR therapies.
