Description
The Critical Care Pharmacy course is an elective designed to educate pharmacy students about various aspects of critical care and emergency medicine. The course content will focus on a pharmacist's role in caring for these patient populations. Students will be taught through didactic lecture, in-class discussions, in depth review of primary literature and relevant guidelines, and application to patient cases. The course will focus on, but will not be limited to pathophysiology of various critical disease states and patient presentations, differential diagnosis, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medications, and development of patient-specific treatment plans.
