Description
This course introduces systematic program design as it relates to health and human service systems including regulatory bodies that influence the practice of recreational therapy. Special attention will be given to the application of the recreational therapy scope of practice, standards of practice, code of ethics, and the role of credentialing as they relate to program development. The course’s group-based structure simulates the contemporary role in management practices and allows each student to demonstrate leadership principles. It’s unique inclusion of an interprofessional education module provides the student with the opportunity to engage with other allied health students in a collaborative experience using a clinical case study.
