Prerequisites: Graduate standing in Social Work AND C+ or better in SW 6511 OR SW 6513.
Description
Field Practicum aids students in developing and applying theoretical knowledge and models of social work to agency practice with diverse populations at risk. Students apply a generalist perspective to develop ethically competent practice in micro, mezzo, and macro areas of social work under the supervision of an approved clinical instructor. Students gain skills in maintaining working relationships, developing multi-dimensional assessment, utilizing a lifespan perspective, differentially applying intervention strategies considering the unique attributes of each client system. Students will conduct appropriate evaluations of practice interventions and ethical dilemmas, utilizing social work knowledge, values, and skills.
