Description
The first in a series, this course introduces nurse midwifery and women’s health nurse practitioner students to the philosophy and role of the independent practitioner in the ambulatory setting. Students apply didactic knowledge and clinical skills in the provision of women’s health care throughout the life span, with an emphasis on normal findings, and routine management of normal pregnancy and well woman gynecologic care. Students will practice techniques of assessment, beginning awareness of management approaches. Students work under the close supervision of faculty preceptors. This is a Credit / No Credit course.
