Description
For musicians who already read music (treble, bass, or grand staff) and know basic scales and minor/major keys and signatures. This course will prepare you to succeed in a college music theory and musicianship course or AP music theory. Topics include chord qualities and functional tonality, introduction to figured bass and four part writing, Roman numeral analysis, and sight singing. In addition students will learn strategies for sight singing and dictation (such as anchor tones), test taking tips (such as clean manuscript for a better grade), insider secrets for efficiency (such as memorize basic chords and extrapolate harder chords) in our part writing and counterpoint exercises.
