Description
In this course, we will study six of Shakespeare's "evil" characters in six plays. Each one has a unique personal profile. The characters we will consider are: Aaron in Titus Andronicus, Iago in Othello, Richard in Richard III, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, and Edmund in King Lear. We will analyze Shakespeare's powers of characterization in his incredible writings. Class members will read passages aloud, like a Shakespearean actor, for greatly enhanced understanding.
