Description
This course examines the nature of social scientific theory pertaining to human communication. It is designed to help students build skills of critically evaluating theories as well as coming up with theoretical ideas. It introduces students to philosophy of social science and considers questions of ontology, epistemology, axiology and methodology. Students will learn theory development in communication research and propose a theoretical model that advances existing theory.
