Description
This course is designed to introduce students to many different disciplines of engineering in the College of Engineering and the ways engineers solve problems. Exploration is conducted through lectures from selected College of Engineering faculty, reading and reflection assignments, and laboratory projects. Students who take this course will gain a solid understanding of each of the areas of engineering, their contributions to solving past and future pressing problems in our world, and new and emerging research in each area. Students will also learn and utilize an engineering design cycle to approach and solve problems by working on laboratory projects related to many of the different engineering disciplines. This course may be used by students as a general exploration of engineering, or to determine which field of engineering they may choose to study.
