Description
An introduction to the field of laboratory phonology. The course covers advanced topics in phonetics (acoustic, articulatory, and auditory) and the phonetics-phonology interface, including speech perception, contrast and phonological processes, child and adult acquisition of phonetics and phonology, the phonetics and phonology of signed languages, and/or speech segmentation. Students engage with the primary research literature, collect and analyze data, and develop final projects on laboratory phonology topics.
