Description
Modeled after successful programs in medical education, this course contains both didactic and hands-on activities and instruction. Instruction includes lectures, guest presentations, small group in-class activities, and an interpreter practicum. Course content will address formal and informal language assessment techniques for dual language learners (DLLs), best practices utilizing bilingual interpreters during various steps in assessing language skills in DLLs, principles for serving clientele with varying cultural beliefs, and analyzing assessment data for decision-making.
