Description
This course is designed to provide support as students apply research and writing skills to designing and conducting their Capstone projects. Course materials and activities will be adjusted to scaffold students' skills at the appropriate stage of their projects. Course topics include: successful defense presentations; IRB applications; developing study instruments such a focus group, interview, and observation protocols; survey considerations; recruitment strategies and materials; consent processes and other ethical issues; data management and reflection memos; analytic strategies such as coding, matrices, document analysis; and moving from analysis to writing. These topics will enhance students' capstone projects and skills as scholar-practitioners engaged in wrestling with problems of policy and practice.
