Description
"In the six hours between 0630 and 1230 on 6 June 1944, on a 60-mile stretch of beach in Normandy France, the course of history in Europe changed forever. Soldiers and sailors from Great Britain, the US, Canada, and France, from the sea and from the air, stormed and breached the fabled Atlantic Wall and established a lodgment that would prove to be the undoing of Nazi Germany. Our class, held on June 6, the actual anniversary date of D-Day, will examine who-did-what-where-and-when, but will, in true Osher fashion, delve especially deeply into WHY events evolved as they did. Come join us as we discuss what is arguably the most excellent day in US history."
