Description
This course explores the case and statutory law governing the gratuitous transfer of wealth at death, known as succession. Topics to be covered include the laws governing intestate succession, wills, nonprobate transfers (including trusts), and charitable dispositions, as well as the limits on freedom of disposition and general rules regarding probate and trust administration. Close attention will be paid to the Uniform Probate Code and the policies it reflects.
