Description
The fifth in a series, women’s health nurse practitioner students in this course build on the skills and knowledge gained in didactic courses and Practicums I-IV. Students transition to a safe beginning practitioner. This clinical experience is at sites that best match the students’ learning needs. Faculty determine the site in collaboration with the students. Students are expected to apply previous didactic and clinical knowledge and experience in the care of women throughout the life span. During this clinical experience students function semi-autonomously under the supervision of a preceptors.  Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner students will register for 4 credit hours. Students who are completing both the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner major and the Nurse Midwifery major will determine the number of credit hours needed in consultation with the Specialty Director. This is a Credit / No Credit course.
