Description
This course provides students with an introduction to health informatics technology focusing on the pharmacists role. it will explore health information technologies directly and indirectly impacting the pharmacy profession. It will expose students to the basic health informatics terminology and provides an overview of federal and state regulations. Students will learn the foundations of systematic data, information, and knowledge processing in healthcare and the impact this has on patients and the health care team. By examining benefits, constraints, and areas for future expansion students will know how technology cam improve the medication use system.
