Description
This class is designed as a combined classroom and clinical lab experience. Students will learn about various diagnoses and conditions associated with individuals receiving services through physical rehabilitation and the impact of the conditions on the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional functional domains. Specific information related to etiology, symptomatology, diagnostic treatment, and related treatment courses for individuals with physical, neurological, and neuromuscular conditions. Course discussions will highlight influential legislative policies, accessibility and inclusion criteria for community integration, diversity and lifespan implications associated with physical, neurological, and neuromuscular conditions. Students will be exposed to different service delivery options including various assessments, accessibility, and universal design, assistive technology, adaptive sport and recreation, and various interventions appropriate for individuals with physical, neurological, and neuromuscular conditions.
