Description
This course is designed to introduce graduate students and upper-level undergraduate students to the field of chemical education research through collaborative work and active engagement in the class sessions. This course will concentrate on an overview of discipline-based education research with a focus on learning how to read STEM education-research papers (key reviews and current studies), build research questions, and design evaluation studies. Each class will center around discussions and group activities, coupled with mini-lectures, that are central to current themes in chemical-education research. Via assignments throughout the semester, each student will develop their own education-research proposal and give a poster on the proposal at the end of the semester.
