Description
Explore the broad range of expressive marks watercolor is capable of. Inspiration will come from a slideshow of the history of watercolor to observe how master artists apply watercolor, watching your instructor demonstrate techniques, as well as paying attention to the natural way you apply paint. You submit landscape photographs which the class votes on, narrowing down to one image the entire class paints. Then each of you paint it in your own expressive way. You start with a value and composition study before proceeding to your final painting. The delight will be to see the variation and range of interpretations created by each of you. The lessons learned in LLART 412 Watercolor: See and Paint Tonal Values are a helpful precursor.
