YEART 309 - Urban Art - The Street Art Project: Stencils, Style & Spraypaint (Age 14-17)

Students will work alongside local artist Dave Simon and spend five days digging in deep with aerosol arts, exploring the ins-and-outs of spray paint techniques, murals, and street art. We will draw inspiration from the 'greats' of graffiti and street art - from the early days of 'rogue' artists like Basquiat to today's highly-collected urban art legends like Shepard Fairey and Banksy. Extra lab time will be provided for students to go hands-on with large spray paint mural projects and artworks of their own, as well as to hone in skills in stenciling, sticker or (slap) creations, lettering, and other street art essentials.
