Description
This course introduces the basics of electrochemical systems, including thermodynamics, mass transport, kinetics, and interfaces. Subsequent material introduces the principles of electrochemical energy storage, including Li-ion batteries and redox flow batteries. The course ends with an introduction to the frontiers of these technologies, including the electrode materials, electrolytes, and membranes.
