Description
This course provides Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students with essential knowledge and skills needed to complete a research project, such as the Au.D. Capstone Project required for graduation. Assignments and activities will be applied to the student’s Au.D. Capstone Project when possible, otherwise the instructor will provide the student with simulated projects. Topics include: identifying and developing hypotheses, finding essential research literature, summarizing and critically evaluating research articles and other publications, and understanding common study designs in hearing research. Coverage of these topics is intended to support and complement (but not replace) mentoring efforts among the student and the faculty advisor supervising the Au.D. Capstone or another research project.
