Description
This course will cover primary data collection techniques relevant to epidemiological and public health research, including survey methodology, instrument design and testing, direct observation, key informant interviews and focus groups, qualitative methodology, and SEIR (susceptible-infectious-exposed-removed) models. Students will learn, through hands-on projects, how to develop primary data collection tools, as well as analysis and interpretation of associated data. The course builds on concepts and techniques presented in Epidemiology II (PBHLT 7300) and Biostatistics II (PBHLT 7100 or PHS 7000).
