Description
In this course, students will learn how to evaluate a body of literature about how to apply the research literature to occupational therapy practice, with a particular emphasis on intervention effectiveness literature. Students will learn about levels of evidence in the health care and educational setting, risk of bias, and strength of evidence for answers to research questions. They will gain knowledge in how to read the data analysis and results sections of study reports and in understanding what descriptive and inferential statistics mean. They will practice making clinical decisions using research evidence as one pillar of evidenced-based practice.
