Description
An introductory course which provides an overview of the principles of epidemiologic and biostatistics. Students will be introduced to the concepts of rates, risks, and measures of effect as they pertain to clinical practice. Principles of descriptive and analytic epidemiology will be introduced, as will basic study design and the concepts of bias, confounding variables, and chance. An overview of basic principles of biostatistics and select statistical tests will be provided, and an introduction to causal inference will be covered.
