Prerequisite: CVEEN 3220.
Climatology and meteorology of the Earth's boundary layer. Basic aerodynamics, structural dynamics, and principles of stochastic loadings applicable to the wind engineering of structures. Wind tunnel modeling of buildings and bridges. Aeroelastic and other special problems. Snow climatology as it applies to snow loads on structures. Basis for building and resulting codes for roof snow load estimation in structural design. Combined wind/snow effects. Research and model studies for one-of-a-kind structures. Lateral loads due to dynamic effects such as snow avalanche impacts.
