FILM 3880 - Beginning Acting for TV and Film Beginning Acting for TV and Film

This course is designed to explore the ways actors create realistic, imaginative portrayals for film and television. Utilizing the notion of "less is more," this class introduces concepts such as clarifying intention, script analysis and subtext. Through such crucial skills as listening, responding and concentration, participants will hone their on-camera acting ability. Students will have the opp0rtunity of practicing cold reading and autioning skills for movies and television. During the process of memorizing and performing monologues and scenes, students will discover how to find objectives, overcome conflicts and learn the simplicity of acting in front of the camera.
