Description
This course addresses the implementation, management and outcomes of clinical information systems (CISs). Concepts and theories related to innovation diffusion, organizations, implementation, and group processes are applied. Project management techniques including human and fiscal resourcing are applied throughout the course. Common strategies and major implementation issues are evaluated and applied. Approaches for evaluating the impacts of clinical information systems are critiqued. Clinical laboratory sessions will focus on the analysis and synthesis of key success and major risk factors of clinical systems in integrated delivery systems using material in case studies, field sites and CIS vendors.
