Description
This course teaches project planning and scheduling, interplay between business processes, systems, technology, people, and strategy, giving and receiving feedback, policies, procedures and rules. For most organizations the greatest number of employees, the greatest expense, and the most direct impact on customers are in operations. This workshop will help you answer the key questions that must be resolved-project planning, problem solving, productive maintenance, quality assurance, designing work, process and systems improvement, and change management. Participants will learn how to: Implement a positive system of measurement, Avoid management's five deadly diseases, Optimize systems and operations performance, Apply the theory of constraints, Understand the importance of variation, and Monitor variation. They will also understand the relationship between systems, organizational learning and human behavior, and how each interacts with the others. This workshop takes a leadership and a 'customer in' point of view toward systems. Too many programs, policies, and procedures are implemented based on false premises about people and processes-premises based on distrust. In this workshop we will explore the power of effective operations management to create a more motivated, loyal, committed, innovative, and productive workforce.
