Description
An overview of the biopsychosocial issues of the aging process and the impact these might have upon treatment and rehabilitation of the individual when they become ill. Role of the health care provider in maintaining function and promoting self-efficacy/self care through the use of community, personal and family resources. Selected chronic illnesses will be described and discussed in terms of the effect upon the coping skills of the patient and caregiver, the health care provider, and the health care system.
