Description
Would you love to cook Asian food at home but wonder how to find authentic ingredients? This class helps you understand the unique ingredients used in Asian cooking, what to stock in your pantry, and where to buy it. We will first visit the Farmer's Market, where we will focus on vendors of locally grown Asian specialties, then carpool to two nearby stores. At each location, the instructor will guide us through the foods we find; ingredients for Korean, Japanese, Southeast Asian, and Chinese dishes will all be represented. Along the way we will taste, touch, and smell; receive handouts detailing the most popular pantry ingredients and recipes of the dishes we taste; and receive a list of Valley-wide resources for cooks of Asian cuisine. Directions to convenient parking will be sent to participants.
