Description
We all know what it feels like to not be heard-to have your words either misinterpreted or simply disregarded by your coworkers, friends, or loved ones. In this class, we'll use role playing, shared personal experiences, and professional tips to help you with both sides of the equation. We'll focus on helping you choose the right words to get your message across in a nonconfrontive, productive way, and we'll develop your skills as an active listener-someone who knows how to make the speaker feel esteemed, credible, and acknowledged-as well as a person who can request the same from others when it's his/her turn to talk. Effective communication is the key to successful relationships at home, with friends, and in the workplace. Develop or perfect your skills in this supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Irene has more than 25 years experience in the communication arts. She speaks, coaches, and consults nationally and is a trained mediator for Utah courts. Irene has been listed in Who's Who of American Women. She owns Link Communication and CoachLink.
