Description
Students will be involved in clinic or community based research. The professional skill of becoming a life-long learner will be addressed. Students will explore current issues facing occupational therapy practitioners and debate those issues. Students will recognize an ADA issue and problem solve a solution through interactions with appropriate agencies. Level I experience will be completed in a rural area or with an urban community agency assisting an under-served population. Consumer advocacy skills and issues will be addressed. Students will be exposed to information regarding the associations governing and supporting occupational therapy, including AOTA, AOTF, NBCOT, WFOT, local associations and licensing boards.
