Description
This four hour seminar will help you think more strategically when preparing your organization's project and operational budgets. The instructor will review all the elements of a detailed budget, with discussion of basic accounting principles prior to developing templates to create an effective budget for your organization. Some of the issues covered will include: how to develop a functional budget vs. a line-item budget, how to use trends--building up from current expenses to project future costs, how to develop an effective and simple budget narrative that is easily understood, collaborating with the Executive Director and board members for effective financial reporting. This will be an interactive session with some case studies to develop a better understanding of financial reports. For nonprofit professionals who have limited financial experience.
