Description
Meets with SO WK 802. This course is designed to help students begin the career-long task of ongoing professional development. Students will work to build their level of skills in areas such as professional communication, network building, multidisciplinary team membership, documentation/writing, and research. Students will be given the opportunity to practice solution-oriented approaches to working as professionals in the field of substance abuse counseling with an ongoing emphasis on ethical decision-making. Understanding personal biases, appropriate use of disclosure, maintaining professional boundaries, and self-care will be emphasized.
