Description
In this 6-week course, participants will learn how to use the tools of poetry in both reading and writing. We will experiment with both form and free-verse and explore such devices as metrics and syllabics, end- and internal rhyme, assonance and alliteration, and the many uses of imagery. A selection of marvelous poems will be our guides. This course is designed for both would-be and practicing writers of poetry and for those who want to increase their reading pleasure. Enjoy as a stand-alone class, or take in conjunction with 'Read Like a Poet,' LLWRC 788.
