Description
What, if anything, makes a teen reader different from an adult reader? Do writers of young adult fiction have a special responsibility to their readers? What makes the work of great young adult fiction writers such as Robert Cormier and Madeleine L'Engle so timeless? We'll discuss these questions and more as we talk about fiction basics in the context of young adult literature. In-class and take-home exercises will help you develop and/or refine your writing style; we'll also discuss the business of getting published. All skill levels are welcome.
