Description
Examines the sociological and anthropological theories related to education. Includes foci on: culture, race and racism, gender and sexism, social stratification, sexual orientation and homophopia, ethnicity, meritocracy, domination and subordination, and marginalization and oppression. Theories examined include functionalism, modernism, post-structuralism, post-modernity, post-colonialism, and critical race theory and their relationships to education.
