Description
Fusion cooking combines ingredients, techniques, and presentations from around the world to achieve new results. We'll first discuss the vivid and diverse ethnic flavors that create traditional dishes, then mix and match seasonings and cooking techniques--voila! Fusion cooking. We'll start with an appetizer: black beans infused with ginger and other Asian flavors for a multi-layered taste. Next we'll create steamed salmon dumplings with mushrooms, spinach, and jicama, and give them twist with a Creole tomato/cream sauce. To finish we'll take an Italian risotto, add shrimp and smoked chicken, and spice it with Asian flavors. Diane has been teaching cooking since 1999. She appears as a guest chef each Thursday at 11:00 AM on FOX 13 TV, and is frequently featured in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News.
