Writers wanting to make or supplement a living from their craft would do well to look to the internet for new or expanding markets. We'll prep you for the print/online shift by discussing the difference between the mediums in terms of information design and audience; we'll then discuss strategies for customizing your writing for that audience. In-class analyses of usability and audience studies and an out-of-class writing assignment that we will workshop during class two will have you primed for the life and times we now live in. Amber has a BA in journalism and an MS in organizational communication. She worked for, training employees of large media conglomerates in the US, Europe, and Australia on translating print products to the web.
