Description
Meets with MUSIC 4630. An advanced study of western European music of the second half of the eighteenth century, this course investigates the cultural and intellectual conditions and trends of the era (ca.1740-1820) and examines a cross-section of works by composers who especially shaped the Classical style. Consideration of specific theoretical and performance issues will extend students? comprehension of the music of the Age of Enlightenment.
