Prerequisite: For senior Medical students only.
Description
This elective provides a third or fourth-year medical student the opportunity to learn about various fields of biomedical informatics including clinical, public health, translational and imaging informatics. The student will read key informatics literature and discuss with the course director(s). They will attend weekly seminars and research-in-progress conferences, and undertake a research project with a faculty member in an area of interest to the student. During the course of the elective, the student will gain an understanding of the scope of informatics and an appreciation for ways in which informatics knowledge and tools may enhance his/her professional career.
