Description
This half-semester course will focus on the principles of chromosome abnormalities in humans and the role of cytogenetics in the diagnosis of genetic diseases. Topics include: History of human cytogenetics; review of mitosis and meiosis; Principles of laboratory techniques; chromosome identification; Types of cytogenetic abnormalities; Role of molecular cytogenetics techniques in diagnosis of abnormalities.
