Prerequisite: Completion of 1st semester of 1st year.
Description
Students will learn to apply theories of the planned changed process (assessment, intervention, evaluation) to groups, couples and families across the life span, as a result of course emphasis on praxis. Students are introduced to the process of building and nurturing relationships with groups, couples and families. Central to the course is an emphasis on self-awareness and consciousness. The exploration of the intersections of personal and professional ethics and values is stressed in this course. Issues of diversity are introduced both as a practice competency and a practice value and tenets.
