Description
Make beautiful, handmade books that are functional works of art. You will learn four basic book structures--basic portfolio, accordion fold, pamphlet stitch, and Japanese binding--that can be easily modified to create journals, scrapbooks, photo albums, and more. Along the way you'll learn professional techniques that can be transferred to many other bookbinding styles. Artistic enough to be displayed, practical enough to use, handmade books make wonderful gifts for yourself, your friends, or loved ones. Special fee covers all materials; please bring an apron, scissors, and any tools you like to use. Want to create beautiful paper for your pages or cover? See 'Paper Marbling' (LLCFT 210). Class is limited to 10.
