Description
It is assumed that an individual entering the Transfusion Service rotation will have had little, if any exposure to Transfusion Medicine or Immunohematology. The goal of the transfusion medicine rotation is to teach individuals modern routine blood banking and transfusion practices including pretransfusion and compatibility testing, blood product processing, and the administration of appropriate products to the appropriate patients at the appropriate time.
