MST 6963 - 001 Envrnmntl Fld Methds & Anlysis


Class is held in Building 44, second floor, conference room. This is a Hybrid course, which uses a mixture of online, face-to-face, and technology enhanced instruction. This course will provide the skill set needed to properly collect field samples and integrate problem-solving methods related to complex environmental challenges. This course will utilize the Great Salt Lake as its field site for sampling, data collection, and application. This course has a collaborative and working relationship with the Utah Geological Survey and will collaborate with them in a professional setting for data and interpretation contribution. Analysis and interpretation of field samples will use an interdisciplinary approach including, but not limited to, the fields of geology, biology, geography, mathematics, and social sciences. Additional considerations and requirements: students will be required to participate in 2-3 field collection trips to the Great Salt Lake outside of classroom meetings. TBA.
