Prerequisite: Admitted to MSW Program.
Description
In Field Practicum, students apply theoretical knowledge and models of social work to agency practice with diverse populations at risk. Students utilize a generalist perspective to develop ethically competent practice in micro, mezzo, and macro areas of social work under the supervision of an approved clinical instructor. Students gain skills in maintaining working relationships, developing multi-dimensional assessments, utilizing a lifespan perspective, differentially applying intervention strategies while considering the unique attributes of each client system. Students will conduct appropriate evaluations of practice interventions, ethical dilemmas, utilizing social work knowledge, values, and skills.
